The homocysteine blood collection tube from KABE LABORTECHNIK was especially developed to simplify the preanalytical procedures of homocysteine testing. In order to measure homocysteine values reliably, it is necessary to either separate the blood cells as quickly as possible (within 30 minutes after sampling) from serum/plasma or to put the whole blood sample immediately on crushed ice. This handling procedure however, is often impractical in a surgical clinical setting.
The homocysteine blood collection tube can simplify this preanalytical procedure enormously. The purpose- developed stabiliser keeps the homocysteine value stable for at least 36 hours.
